Ganoderma martinicense Wild clone from a sample sent to me from Tennessee in around 2014, before this species was known to grow in the southern United States, before then it had only been observed on the island of Martinique in the Caribbean. This species is very closely related to G. multipileum and shares it’s heliotropic properties (it bends towards a light source in cultivation). This species also has a very unique sourdough bread smell to the fruiting bodies and mycelium as described in the literature. While very beautiful, it grows very slowly and is not a great choice for commercial production, but certainly a must have for a Ganoderma enthusiasts!
